Japanese Black Pine are often referred to as ‘the king of bonsai’ and are one of the most iconic species in the history of bonsai. These are one of the few pines that produce two flushes of growth per season, allowing for refined shaping. Japanese Black Pine needles can remain on the tree for up to three years, adding to its aged appearance. These compact growing starters have been cared for as Bonsai nursery stock and are in 200mm pots with solid secondary branching. The best progress for these pines is to start shaping for formal and informal upright bonsai in future. The natural shape is helpful for easy styling with little intervention – perfect for those apprehensive to approach pine as bonsai. Optional extras are available as shown. You may add: 100gram bonsai shaping wire (selected for the tree) for $4 (RRP $6.95) HANZO Carbon Steel Scissors for $19 (RRP $59) 500gram Bonsai Booster Fertiliser for $6 (RRP $7) Bonsai Master figurine (selected randomly from range) for $9 (RRP $15 ea.) Trees may vary slightly from illustration due to growth and seasonal variation.
